Your role and responsibilities
The Software Coordinator ensures transparency across all active customer projects, aligns activities where necessary, supports long-term resource planning in impacted software teams, anticipates capacity needs, and systematically addresses cross-portfolio challenges.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is part of the Engineering Department within ABB’s Traction Division
You will be mainly accountable for:
First point of contact for product management and sales for new projects and converter platforms
Ensure Product Management is informed of and aligned with SW architecture decisions; facilitate communication and adoption of architecture standards and guidelines across all software layers.
Create synergies across projects and platforms by guiding SW standardization across all SW layers for our major product portfolios and providing inputs for the SW architecture pipeline
Drive strategic roadmap for Control Engineering. Align the roadmap with Traction Control R&D
First point of contact for all high-level control topics in the global MOTR organization
High-level coordination for special projects
Effort, cost and risk estimation for control engineering for engineering projects
Collecting and analyzing feedback from customers and deriving suitable action plans to improve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications for the role
You have a University degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent.
You have minimum 10 years of work experience with SW development for closed loop control, signal processing, algorithms, and real time programming mechanisms.
You have experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages (CODESYS) and Matlab Simulink.
You apply a well‑structured methodology to the development of high‑quality software and documentation.
You have experience in team and project management
You possess demonstrated expertise in converter control, power electronics, or automotive technologies.
You are fluent in English, German is a plus.
