Jobdescription

We are seeking a temporary Associate Scientist / Scientist in Computational Structural Biology to support the Parenterals Development group's in silico pipeline for Large Molecules development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Principal Scientist for Computational Structural Biology to apply structural modelling, molecular simulation, and in silico developability and formulatability tools to de-risk and accelerate the development of monoclonal antibodies and related biologic formats (ADCs, bispecifics, Fc-fusion proteins)

This role is designed for a candidate who can contribute immediately and independently to ongoing computational workflows, with limited ramp-up time, supporting Drug Product development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, run, and interpret in silico simulations and computational modelling (e.g., molecular dynamics, homology/structure prediction) to characterize antibody structural behaviour and predict interactions with formulation matrices (buffers, excipients, surfactants).
  • Apply and maintain in silico developability/formulatability assessment tools (e.g., aggregation propensity, viscosity, chemical degradation hotspot prediction) to support candidate selection and formulation risk assessment for antibody and related biologic formats.
  • Perform antibody structure prediction and analysis (e.g., homology modelling, AlphaFold-based or equivalent tools) to generate mechanistic hypotheses linking sequence/structure to stability liabilities.
  • Process, curate, and interpret computational output to support formulation and process development decisions, working in close collaboration with Drug Product formulation scientists.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automated data pipelines (Python or equivalent) to streamline in silico screening workflows and ensure reproducibility of computational analyses.
  • Document methods and results clearly, and generate presentation-ready summaries and technical reports for cross-functional project teams.
  • Contribute to internal and external scientific communication (presentations, reports) to disseminate best practices and computational findings within the group.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Scientist and Drug Product scientists to prioritize computational analyses based on project needs, working with a high degree of autonomy on established workflows.

Qualifikationen

Your profile

  • PhD in Structural Biology, Computational Biology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in antibody structural analysis, applied specifically to antibody discovery and development (e.g., homology modeling, structure-based sequence liability analysis). Experience gained in an academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical setting is acceptable, provided it is directly focused on Large Molecules.
  • Proficiency in molecular dynamics simulation software (e.g., NAMD, GROMACS, OpenMM, or equivalent) applied to protein/antibody systems.
  • Hands-on experience with antibody structure prediction tools (e.g., AlphaFold, ABodyBuilder, homology modeling platforms).
  • Working knowledge of in silico developability/formulatability approaches for antibodies.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills (Python required; familiarity with bioinformatics libraries and pipeline automation).
  • Ability to work independently and run the existing in silico pipeline with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; ability to present complex scientific concepts to cross-functional, non-computational audiences.
