The Copper Legal team is a collaborative high-performing group of lawyers and paralegals who operate across multiple jurisdictions. We work closely with Compliance Risk Product and Engineering to ensure Coppers operations are legally sound and strategically aligned. Role Purpose

Based in our Zug office with a hybrid working arrangement you will support the EMEA Legal team in delivering strategic legal guidance to executive leadership key business stakeholders and cross-border legal and compliance teams across Switzerland Europe the UAE and the United States.

Key Responsibilities of the role

• Draft and review legal documents which can include contracts agreements and other legal documents.
• Provide legal advice on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters as part of an expanding team focused on the provision of a wide range of innovative products and services to the EMEA market.
• Support our license application processes and expansion into new markets engaging with regulators and collaboratively advise the management of our regulated businesses on both evolvingand existing governance and regulatory requirements in the EMEA region. Your work will be focused on the intersection of banking / financial services and digital assets regulation for institutional digital asset services.
• Assist the Product and Engineering teams to design and roll out market leading and regulatory compliant services.
• Advise the business and the Compliance team on all legal matters that involve or affect our operations in EMEA.
• Work with external counsel and consultants as and when required including managing legal spend and invoices.
• Deal with ad hoc queries of a legal nature that arise while operating a business across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.
• Keep up to date on digital asset industry regulatory developments relevant to the role and share knowhow as appropriate within the Legal team.
