Today Drug product process development is a crucial area in Drug product services (DPS) as Lonza  expands further  into the area of commercial DP manufacturing in addition to  previously announced  investments in the area. This expansion translates to a change in the portfolio of development programs to a late-stage product mix. The Process development team has supported this change and continues to not only work on a growing number of later stage and pre-BLA programs but also supports the DP manufacturing network in its growth projects. Key responsibilities :

Leads a team of Group Heads and Scientists. Ensures process development stages for liquid and lyophilized parenteral drug products (DP) of biologics (e.g. monoclonal antibodies, novel formats, ADCs, LNPs etc.) are driven in compliance with internal and external standards.

Owns the establishment of a phase appropriate DP process development strategy. Ensures alignment with local and global MSAT organizations during development and implementation of this strategy.

Optimally networks and liaises with partner units within the network to ensure strategic and technical alignment with overall Lonza strategy.

Supports quality and commercial functions during audits, customer visits and program acquisition.

Key requirements :

The ideal candidate will have a PhD or MSc in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical sciences, Chemistry or a similar field. However, we also encourage individuals with equivalent experience to apply.

Highly Experienced (10+ years) in the field of Pharmaceutical development of Biological DP

Leadership experience in multi-tiered team

Excellent communication skills in English, knowledge of German and French highly valuable
