About us
GRANITE BIO is a private biotechnology company located in Basel (Switzerland).
GRANITE BIO is supported by top-tier investors with ~$100M raised to date. Based on fundamental research conducted over the last two decades, GRANITE BIO’s is pursuing a differentiated approach to transform inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic conditions. Both our programs are first-in-class monoclonal antibodies for large market opportunities in Immunology and Inflammation. GRT-001, the lead asset, depletes inflammatory monocytes. It has just completed a Phase 1a trial in healthy volunteers and has shown favorable safety and pharmacodynamic effect. The Phase 1b trial in patients with Ulcerative Colitis has just started. GRT-002 is an IL-3 neutralizing antibody that is thought to play an important role in type II inflammation.
We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong expertise in data transfers (DTS), statistical analysis, and translational data integration to join our Translational Science team. This role supports the progression of programs in the early clinical development stage (Phase I).
In this position, you will focus on the end-to-end lifecycle of data, including ingestion, harmonization, transfer, analysis, and interpretation of clinical PD, biomarker, and clinical datasets. You will play a key role in building scalable data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data transfers, and applying advanced statistical methods to generate actionable insights for first-in-human studies.
Responsibilities
Data Science & Statistical Analysis
• Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze integrated preclinical, biomarker, and clinical datasets
• Develop and implement statistical models supporting translational and exploratory analyses
• Contribute to and review Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) with a focus on early-phase and biomarker-driven studies
• Support decision-making (e.g., dose escalation, cohort expansion) through data-driven insights
• Perform exploratory analyses linking PD, biomarkers, and clinical outcomes
Data Transfers & Integration (DTS)
• Design, implement, and oversee data transfer specifications (DTS) across internal systems and external partners
• Ensure seamless ingestion and harmonization of multi-source datasets (preclinical, clinical, omics, biomarker)
• Establish and maintain robust ETL pipelines and data workflows
• Ensure data consistency, traceability, and auditability across systems and studies
• Collaborate with CROs and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality data delivery and transfers
Data Management & Quality
• Oversee data management activities for Phase I trials with emphasis on complex and exploratory datasets
• Define and enforce data standards, structures, and validation rules (e.g., CDISC where applicable)
• Review key documents (DMPs, CRFs, data transfer agreements/specifications, validation plans)
• Ensure data readiness for analysis, database lock, and regulatory submissions
Process & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP and relevant data standards
• Support regulatory documentation and submissions involving biomarker and translational data
• Contribute to the development of scalable, fit-for-purpose data science and DTS processes
Qualifications
• MSc or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science, statistical analysis, or clinical/translational data environments
• Strong experience with data transfers (DTS), ETL processes, and data pipeline development
• Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., R, Python, SAS)
• Experience with early-phase clinical development
• Solid understanding of biomarkers, PK/PD relationships, and data integration across domains
• Familiarity with CDISC standards (SDTM/ADaM) and/or exploratory/non-standard datasets
• Experience with ICH-GCP and relevant standards
• Experience with clinical early phase studies
