We are seeking an experienced Flavour Application Specialist from the flavour or food and beverage industry to join our R&D team at our R&D headquarters in Switzerland. You will develop and maintain new formulations for beverages, confectionery, bakery and dairy products, test our quality flavours and present them in new concepts. As a key member of our Applications Team, you will collaborate closely with Product and Portfolio Management, Flavour Creation, Science and Technology, and Sales. You will share your knowledge and experience, contributing to exceeding customer expectations. We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced, hard-working, and creative individual who is eager to grow with us and help lay the foundations for our new venture.
Your Mission
With your expertise in flavour application you will work in close partnership with our R&D department to:
- Drive excellence in flavour application across multiple product categories by developing and optimising high-quality flavour application solutions and conducting flavour testing.
- Evaluate and match market products, customer targets and produce prototype samples.
- Lead the creation and improvement of application recipes, application methods, and lab processes to ensure consistent performance and high technical standards.
- Provide expert technical guidance to internal teams and customers, supporting strategic projects and delivering impactful application concepts.
- Ensure sensory evaluation and quality monitoring to maintain product stability, performance, and consistency.
- Investigate and experiment with innovative raw materials, technologies and processes to strengthen application capabilities and the future portfolio.
- Support knowledge transfer locally by delivering internal trainings and workshops on application, ingredients, and best practices.
- Contribute to building and shaping the future F&B Flavour Application team and capabilities within the R&D organization.
- Conduct internal sensory evaluation in close partnership with Sensory Science und the flavour development team.
- Prepare and conduct internal workshops and trainings on applications within our segments, additives, ingredients, best practices, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in Food Science or equivalent experience and knowledge.
- Over 5 years of professional experience working in R&D and application for the flavour or food & beverage industry.
- Specialist in technical development for beverages, confectionery, bakery and dairy products.
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility for developments, and produce quality output.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of food technology, food science, and food processing.
- Must keep ahead of market trends (products, flavours, technology).
- Knowledge and understanding of local and regional regulations and preferences.
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and organization.
- Proficient O365 and computer literate.
- Fluency in German and English is necessary, any other language is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good networking and influencer skills, with strong leadership skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately when under pressure to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of Confluence, Jira, Excel, CRM and ERP systems an asset.
