About JHC Consulting
JHC Consulting is a remote advisory firm whose work sits closer to judgment, review, and decision support than to routine execution. The work is often analytical in nature, but not in a purely mechanical sense. It involves examining information carefully, understanding what it supports and what it does not, and helping bring structure to material that may initially be incomplete, uneven, or difficult to interpret. We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst who wants to build strong analytical habits in a setting where clarity, precision, and professional discipline matter.

About the role
This is not a role built around producing dashboards for appearance alone, and it is not a volume-based reporting function. It is better suited to someone who is thoughtful with information, patient with detail, and able to work carefully without losing sight of the wider question.
You would support analytical work across research, review, and decision-support assignments. Some of the work may begin with raw data, spreadsheets, background materials, or fragmented inputs that need to be cleaned up and organized before they become useful. In other cases, the task may be to check whether figures align, whether assumptions are being relied upon too casually, or whether a summary is actually supported by the material behind it.
This is a junior position, but not one where you are expected to operate carelessly just because you are early in your career. We are interested in people who take accuracy seriously, think before they conclude, and understand that useful analysis often comes from reducing confusion rather than adding unnecessary complexity.

What you would do
In this role, you may be involved in:

reviewing datasets, spreadsheets, and supporting materials
cleaning and organizing information into usable working files
checking figures, categories, and source consistency
preparing summary tables, structured notes, and analytical support materials
identifying gaps, anomalies, inconsistencies, or weak comparisons
helping transform scattered information into clear and usable analysis
supporting internal and client-facing work where the factual basis matters

The work is likely to appeal to someone who finds satisfaction in making material clearer, more ordered, and more reliable.

What we are looking for
You do not need to have done everything before. What matters more is the way you work.
We would expect a strong candidate to have:

good working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
basic SQL skills
confidence handling structured data with care
strong attention to detail
clear written English
a disciplined approach to checking accuracy
the ability to stay organized when material is messy or incomplete

You should be comfortable noticing when something does not look right, and willing to verify rather than assume.

Helpful background
Experience can come from a range of places. This may include:

university coursework
academic research
internships
freelance assignments
personal projects
an early role involving reporting, research, operations, or analysis

Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar platforms may be useful, but it is not the main point of the role. We are less interested in polished tool lists than in whether you can handle information responsibly and think with care.
