Your Role
We are seeking a Finance Controller to oversee and manage our financial operations in a standalone capacity, taking over the day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements. This role will report to the CFO.
Key responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records in Odoo
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with Swiss GAAP (OR)
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Handle VAT accounting and prepare periodic VAT returns
Financial Reporting & Controlling
Prepare financial statements and support group reporting requirementsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisSupport cost accounting and inventory accounting processesConduct ad-hoc financial analyses and support management decisionsAudit & Compliance
Prepare documentation for external audits and tax reviewsEnsure compliance with Swiss accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policiesHelp implement process improvements and internal controlsCross-Functional Collaboration
Work with operations, sales, and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial dataSupport ERP improvements and automation initiativesRequirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3+ years of experience in accounting (preferably in Switzerland or in international companies)Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP (OR) and Swiss VATProficiency in German and English (both required)Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Odoo is a plus)Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications
Experience with inventory accounting, production environments, or FMCG / agricultureFamiliarity with EU VAT or cross-border transactionsExposure to small / mid-size companies or fast-growing environmentsSoft Skills
