Communication Manager for Open Research Europe (RCS-SIS-OSLD)

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Outreach and Communication Manager with a strong background in science communication and scholarly publishing work on Open Research Europe (ORE) platform soon to be hosted at CERN. As part of a growing team you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive outreach communication and marketing strategies that promote the platform and engage with the scientific community.

Functions

Strategic Communication and Marketing

• Develop and implement outreach communication and marketing strategies aligned with OREs mission in coordination with OREs partners and funders.
• Promote platform awareness among researchers institutions funders and libraries.
• Create messaging frameworks and materials for diverse stakeholders.
• Monitor and adjust communication strategies to ensure effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Coordination

• Build and maintain relationships with partners and project stakeholders.
• Represent ORE at conferences workshops and community events.

Vendor Management & Content Coordination

• Coordinate with external vendors for marketing and content development.
• Oversee creation of promotional materials and ensure brand consistency.
• Manage vendor timelines deliverables and quality standards.

Social Media & Digital Communication

• Manage OREs social media channels and digital presence.
• Develop content calendars and oversee daily operations.
• Engage with the research community and monitor relevant trends.
• Track and report on social media metrics and engagement.

Qualifications :

Masters degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Science Communication Journalism Communications or a related field.

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in: science communication scholarly publishing outreach open science initiatives open access advocacy or research communication;
• Experience managing social media channels for scientific or academic organisations;
• Experience coordinating with external vendors or agencies for marketing and communications;
• Strong network within open science scholarly publishing or research communities preferred;
• Deep understanding of the open access publishing and open science landscape.
