The Institute for Infectious Diseases (IFIK), University of Bern has an opened position for a qualified and experienced staff bioinformatician to perform bioinformatic analyses of microbial and viral pathogens of clinical importance within its accredited Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) laboratory.
We seek
A researcher with competence in bioinformatics who will : A) perform and further develop bioinformatic data analysis (NGS data workflow, database curation, reporting), and B) provide statistical support for process validation and process automation in the accredited microbiology diagnostic department of the institute.

Opportunities to be trained specifically on emerging technologies in bioinformatics and sequencing will be offered as needed.
The salary will be based on the University of Bern's system (salary and social insurance).
