What We Do & Who We Are

At the Fondue Villa & Garden, we offer a authentic and unforgettable cheese and fondue experiences. Since our humble beginnings in the summer of 2022, we've quickly become the top-rated cheese and fondue destination in Switzerland by offering truly unique and immersive cheese and fondue themed experiences.

In addition to our fondue restaurant we host a range of cheese-related activities, such as Fondue Cooking Classes, Cheese Farm Visits, Cheesemaking workshop, Fondue Picnic Backpacks, Night sledding (with fondue) and several outdoor adventures—all beginning and ending at our Fondue Villa.

For the upcoming summer we are looking for a passionate cheesy person to lead our cheese making workshops at a local cheese farm + the fondue cooking classes.

A typical day

08 : 00-12 : 00am Cheese farm visit with cheesemaking, huge alpine breakfast, cheese foot bath (yes, we do that), cheese storage visit, cow cuddling, pig feeding and mountain scenery gazing.

12 : 30-14 : 00 prepping the fondue cooking class.

14 : 00 - 17 : 00 Fondue cooking class at the Fondue Villa consisting of a mix of wine + cheese tasting, playing fondue games (you are gonna love fondue fork darts & cheese wheel bowling), storytelling, fondue making and a lot of food & laughter.

17 : 00+ Finish up, clean up the workshop, organize things and when needed help out a little bit in the preparation fo the fondue restaurant table setting.

Fondue Cooking Classes

Our Fondue Cooking Class is a fantastic and fun way to experience Swiss tradition. It’s a great cultural activity where the group will learn how to make traditional Swiss cheese fondue using local alpine cheeses, all while learning about the history and cultural significance of this iconic Swiss dish. Before we dive into the fondue making, your group will enjoy a wine tasting experience that pairs beautifully with the different Swiss cheeses.

Cheese Farm Visit

The Cheese Farm Visit is a half-day adventure set high in the Swiss Alps, offering stunning panoramic views and an immersive experience at an alpine dairy and cheese farm. During this unforgettable journey, our guest will participate in a variety of delightful activities, including a hands-on cheesemaking workshop, a traditional Swiss Farmers' Brunch featuring local cheese tastings, cow cuddling, and a soothing cheese & whey footbath. Nestled in the breathtaking mountains surrounding Interlaken, this experience is sure to create lasting memories.

Tasks

  • FOR THE FONDUE COOKING CLASS :
  • Prepare all necessary ingredients, equipment, and supplies for the class.
  • Welcome participants and introduce them to the history of fondue in Swiss culture.
  • Guide participants through the entire cooking process,
  • Facilitate group participation, encouraging everyone to take part in the preparation and enjoy the experience.
  • Explain the pairing of wines or other beverages that complement the fondue.
  • Oversee the cleaning of the cooking space once the class is finished.
  • Engage guests with fun facts or trivia about Swiss culture, the cheese-making community, and regional traditions.
  • Ensure guests are comfortable and having a good time
  • FOR THE CHEESE FARM VISIT :
  • Drive the guests from the meeting point to the alpine cheese farm, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and scenic ride.
  • Lead guests on a scenic hike or walk to the alpine cheese farm, sharing interesting facts about the area, local flora and fauna, and the significance of the farm in Swiss cheesemaking traditions.
  • Explain the farming practices, the role of cows in cheesemaking, and the process of turning milk into cheese.
  • Introduce the farmers and cheesemakers and provide insight into their daily work. Traslate from German to English the Farmers explanations.
  • Make an unforguetable time to our guests

Requirements

  • LOVING CHEESE!!
  • A personable individual who loves to connect, chat, and entertain guests. Possesses excellent presentation skills, demonstrating attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Adapts to guest needs, tells engaging stories, manages time well, and remains enthusiastic.
  • Always a smile on your face : -D
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential for this position.
  • Available for work from May to September; year-round employment is possible, but we will start with the summer season.
  • Flexible and available five days a week, including weekends. Cheese farm visits will take place in the mornings, while fondue cooking classes are scheduled for the afternoons.
  • A driving license is required.
  • Benefits

  • Hourly wage between 28-34 CHF per hour depending on language skills, experience and cheese knowledge
  • The hours are flexible, ranging from 20 to 30 per week (80-140hours a month) depending on personal preference and flexibility
