The research group of Finance and Financial Economics (Prof. Angelo Ranaldo) of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel invites applications for a predoctoral position, with the employment level ranging from 50% to 70%.
Start date : September 1, 2025 (or by agreement), for a duration of one year (flexible).
Your position
You will primarily work as a research assistant , analyzing confidential datasets to uncover the structure of the foreign exchange (FX) and the interbank secured lending markets. Additionally, you will assist in preparing lectures for the bachelor's course "Financial Markets Theory" and the master's course "Finance".
Your profile
You have a strong quantitative and programming background. You feel confident to work with big data and present the findings in a clear and concise way. You hold a Master's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, or related fields, and are interested in pursuing a PhD in Finance. You are not required to speak German.

Compensation
Gross annual salary between CHF 40'500 and CHF 60'500, according to the previous experience and the agreed level of employment.
