Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems.
We are seeking a Strategic Buyer for our GIS factory in Zürich Oerlikon. You will be a pivotal member of a diverse strategic purchasing team. While the core team is based in Zürich-Oerlikon, you will also collaborate with our dedicated colleagues in Brno, CZ.
Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities, primarily focusing on developing and implementing key sourcing strategies within the GIS business unit to meet market demands and customer projects. In this position, you will work closely with local units like Engineering and R&D, and also on a global scale with our Category Management.

Your responsibilities
You take responsibility for defined material groups within the GIS business unit and develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve business and financial objectives.
You will establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality, and compliance with contractual terms.
You are responsible for the identification and selection of suppliers, negotiation of contracts, and supplier performance monitoring.
You work closely with cross-functional teams, align, and collaborate with dotted line SCM functions and global category management to drive our procurement strategy forward.
You conduct market research and industry trend analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and potential risks.
Your background
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant further education would be a plus.
You have hands-on experience in strategic procurement, preferably in the energy or engineering industry.
You work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
You are fluent in English. German language is a plus.
You have good knowledge of SAP (preferably S4 / Hana), MS Office.
