The University Clinic of Dental Medicine (CUMD) is the only French-speaking dental training center in Switzerland. It provides basic, advanced and continuing education, and conducts research in the field of oral health. Finally, it provides preventive and therapeutic clinical care to the population of Geneva. The Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics (DRG) of the HUG is a medical hub focused on the elderly. It comprises 6 divisions on 5 sites, and employs around 1,400 staff. It deals with acute situations, specific age-related problems, medical rehabilitation and palliative medicine.
In this context, the Faculty of Medicine and the HUG are inviting applications for a University Hospital position as a Senior Staff Dentist that includes a fraction of a professorship position :
Full or Associate Professor,
Senior Staff Dentist in charge of the Gerodontology Unit |
Lead the Gerodontology Unit of the Division of Geriatrics and Rehabilitation at HUG and be responsible for the management of the DRG's dental offices (Bellerive, Loëx and Belle-Idée hospitals)
Lead the Division of Gerodontology and Removable Prosthodontics at the CUMD, supervise and participate in its care activities
Ensure the interface between the DRG and CUMD, as well as with their internal and external partners, in a transversal perspective
Provide and supervise pre-graduate, post-graduate and continuing education within the Faculty of Medicine and the HUG, in particular concerning the care of elderly patients. Lead and fund a research team.
Doctorate in Dental Medicine, Board certification in Reconstructive Dentistry (SSRD), or equivalent
Outstanding clinical expertise, training in gerodontology and in conventional and digital techniques of rehabilitation with removable prosthodontics
Proven management, organizational and leadership skills
Good knowledge of French
Relevant teaching experience and proven mentoring skills. Ability to lead clinical and translational research. Publications in major international journals.
