The University Centre for Dentistry Basel UZB employs a staff of 280 from over 20 different nations and is an institution under public law, wholly owned by the Canton of Basel-Stadt. The seven departments of the UZB are open to the entire population and can offer the full range of dental services from basic care to highly complex cases at university level.

Ihre Aufgaben

Your tasks

You will treat patients in our orthodontic department, and in more difficult cases on an interdisciplinary basis. As the deputy of the department head (Prof. C. Verna), you will be involved in managing the clinic. As part of the leadership team, you will actively support postgraduate students in orthodontics in their theoretical and practical training in the specialisation programme, and also lead the clinical course for undergraduate students in their first or second master’s year. In research, you support master’s students, doctoral students and postgraduate students in their scientific projects. Overall, you enjoy sharing your knowledge with staff, working in a team and have an interest in conducting research.

Our requirements

As a board-certified specialist for orthodontics, you have a proven track record in orthodontic treatment for adolescents and also adult patients. Your clinical work excels through your confident manner and your role model capabilities. Your experience in the field of research enables you to carry out independent research work as well as to supervise master’s students, doctoral students and dentists in training. You are familiar with administrative and logistical tasks in the treatment of patients and in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, you are characterised by commitment, conscientiousness, the ability to work in a team and flexibility. You are fluent in written and spoken German and English.
