Position Summary
All cross-border business that is done throughout the world is being routed through Omya International AG. All direct business for our Calcium Carbonates is routed through the Customer Service at the headquarters in Oftringen.
We ensure a smooth process / service for the direct customers / key accounts and Omya selling units. The Customer Service team including the logistics team processes the orders, arranges shipments, creates documents for export purposes, controls the freight charges, and has the responsibility to ensure timely delivery to the receiver of the goods.
The organization of transports via different modes (Sea / Truck / Air) requires the implementation and continuous usage of Logistics related IT-Systems & Tools, which are either already implemented or should be integrated in the future.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversees the day to day operation and configuration of the Order- & Transport Management System (OMS / TMS), including user management, troubleshooting and system maintenance
- Support the Project Management of the implementation of the OMS / TMS within the area of responsibility
- Identify inefficiencies in transport workflows and use OMS / TMS features to streamline processes, enhance planning, route optimization, and carrier selection
- Support the Lead Buyer with data analysis for transport performance metrics, costs, and service levels; provide actionable insights to improve logistics performance
- Work with logistics, IT, customer service, and third-party carriers to ensure alignment of TMS functionalities with business needs
- Lead the testing and implementation of OMS / TMS updates and new features, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and training team members on new functionalities
- Support Logistics Team as back-up for day to day operations, such as freight purchasing or inventory management
Key requirements
Commercial education, with 3+ years of experience in logistics management and / or supply chainHigh affinity with digital tools, SAP and good Excel and PowerBI skills are a plus (Hands-on experience with TMS software)Strong, assertive team spirit and communication skillsVery good connected thinkingGood sense of responsibilityExperience with logistics-related IT applications.Knowledge of user training and adaptation of SaaS solutions is desirableA connection to the international logistics and the maritime sector is idealExcellent communication skills, capable of translating technical requirements into actionable steps for cross-functional teamsProject management experience is a plusAdvanced English & German skills (one of both native), French or any other language is an advantageTeamplayer, customer focused, curiosContact
