We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Air Export Team Leader to join our Zürich operations. In this role, you will organize and oversee day-to-day airfreight activities in line with company requirements and standard operating procedures. You will lead the air export team, ensuring high-quality customer service and efficient handling of special cases and customer claims. Additional responsibilities include CASS and rate controlling, invoice assignment for accounting, KPI reporting, and supporting ad-hoc quotations alongside air freight pricing management. You will work closely with your team to maintain operational excellence and deliver a top-class service to both internal and external customers.
These are your key tasks :
- Organize and oversee day-to-day Air Export operations in Zürich, including workload planning, staffing, and operational requirements
- Execute operational duties while ensuring top-class customer service and handling special cases or customer claims
- Lead and motivate the air export team, delegate tasks, develop polyvalence, and support staff development through appraisals and training
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (Dispo, Sales, Air Freight Pricing) and maintain strong relationships with service providers, handling agents, and trucking companies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE regulations, customs, BAZL rules, and regulations for general, special, and pharmaceutical cargo
- Manage financial and administrative responsibilities, including CASS and supplier invoice control, coding, and approval within authorized limits
- Participate in customer visits, support new business implementation, develop SOPs and work instructions, and continuously identify improvements to operations
Requirements
Successful completion of 2nd level education (“Sekundarschule” or equivalent); Diploma as “Speditionsfachmann / -fachfrau” or equivalent in logistics / transportationSeveral years in airfreight export operations, customer service experience with direct customer interaction, and professional experience in international trade; leadership experience preferred; DG / GDP trainedProficient in AS400, CargoWise1, or similar operational systems; strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Fluent in German and English (oral and written, capable of complex negotiations); knowledge of French, Italian, or other languages is an advantageStrong communication skills, open dialogue, and customer-focused mindsetAbility to plan, prioritize, and organize effectively; flexible and adaptable to a changing environmentLeadership abilities, self-motivated, initiative-driven, team player, stress-resistant, and capable of managing conflicts professionallyCommercial spirit, impeccable customer service attitude, willingness to participate in hands-on operational activities, and openness to continuous learningBenefits
