DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the State of Climate Services Report Series.

The incumbent will perform the following duties :

• a) Designing and creating impactful infographics and visual presentations of the report's findings;
• b) Collaborating closely with the graphic designer tasked with the report's final layout for publication and distribution;
• c)Refining and editing the report's content into a concise format of 30-40 pages (including Annexes), utilizing accessible language to ensure broad accessibility and appeal to member states, development partners, climate finance bodies, and adaptation experts;
• d) Identifying compelling case studies for inclusion in the report to illustrate key points vividly;
• e) Assisting in the report's completion and dissemination in accordance with UNFCCC submission requirements;
• f) Developing engaging content for social media platforms to promote the report's launch;

g) Carry out other relevant duties as required.

Deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree in arts, political science, international relations, journalism or a closely related field.

Experience

1. Experience in communications and public affairs.

2. Experience in one of the five priority areas of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) : disaster risk reduction, health, agriculture and food security, water, energy.

3. Previous experience in report writing.

4. Prior working experience with UN Agencies will be an added advantage.

Languages

Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.
