The University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, invites applications for a full professor or assistant professor (tenure track) position in “Climate and Society” (50%)

Requirements :
Candidates must hold a doctorate in geography or climatology (or equivalent titles) and a publication record related to the profile of the position. As a signatory of the DORA declaration, the University of Neuchâtel attaches importance to a qualitative assessment of candidates’ academic activities.
4 periods of 45’ per week / per semester during the year (Full professor) or 2 periods of 45’ per week / per Semester during the year (Assistant professor), divided between BA and MA. Teaching is conducted in French. Non-French speakers are expected to teach in French after a two-year period.
Supervision : supervision of bachelor, master and doctoral research; active involvement in postgraduate teaching and research (doctoral schools, exchange programmes, etc.).
Administration : Participation in the administration of the Institute of Geography, and of the Faculty / University. Executive management of the institute on a rotating basis.
Support :
Teaching assistant : 75 % (PhD student(s),
Secretariat : The Institute has a 70% secretariat.
Starting date : August 1, 2026 or by arrangement.

The candidate’s scientific achievements will be evaluated depending on their net academic age. Please indicate in the CV the amount of time actually dedicated to an academic career, after deducting interruptions and non-scientific work.
