Due to their exciting growth journey and the strengthening of their Global Finance team we are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Group Accounting & Reporting to join the team - reporting directly to the Group CFO. This role is pivotal in shaping and leading the group accounting and financial reporting functions as they continue to expand their global footprint. The future Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of group accounting, ensuring compliance with international financial standards, and driving strategic financial initiatives to support their rapid growth. Key Responsibilities :
- Manage accounting practices, tax compliance, audit processes, internal controls, and ERP development in line with IFRS standards to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency
- Establish and enforce strong financial reporting controls, minimize risks, and ensure accuracy of financial records, adhering to group accounting policies and optimizing accounting systems
- Oversee corporate month-end processes, prepare consolidated financial statements as per IFRS, and handle annual reporting for the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX)
- Act as the main liaison for external auditors, manage audit processes, and resolve audit issues, ensuring effective communication and project management across teams
- Provide expert support on key accounting judgments and complex transactions, and address queries related to IFRS accounting treatments like revenue recognition and impairment assessments
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage tax return preparation, and implement strategies to optimize the group's tax position
- Lead a global team, oversee transactional finance teams across different sites, and drive the evolution towards an optimized financesetup
- Handle special projects on external accounting and provide guidance on national and international accounting issues
- Support the CFO and senior management team with financial analysis and insights
Qualifications :
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field – additional CPA or equivalent professional certification is of advantageMinimum of 10 years’ experience in group accounting andreportingwith at least 5 years in a leadership role - Auditor’s experience with one of the big-4 as well as experience with a SIX listed company is of advantageProfound knowledge and experience in accounting and reporting, with focus on IFRS as well as a track record in managing audits and knowledge of international tax regulationsStrong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle complex financial dataHands-on” mentality, willing to take ownership, able to work under pressure and to deal with conflicting priorities.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systemsExcellent leadership skills - strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence others, collaborate cross-functionally and across different geographies for optimal outcomes for the groupFluency in English; additional languages, especially German, are a plusOpenness for occasional business travelWhat the client offers :
