To reinforce our team of Comfone’s IPX service (Big Data) we are seeking a

Back-End Developer (Java) at our HQ in Bern To start work immediately or at a later date by agreement.

The position is open to Swiss and EU nationals, and to holder of a valid Swiss work permit.

Main tasks

  • Responsible for the development of IPX products
  • Responsible for full life-cycle application development including user requirements, specifications, design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance
  • Implement high quality, reusable and well tested software solutions (backend)
  • Collaborate in a friendly, open and agile environment

Your ideal profile Educational Background : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or a completed apprenticeship in computer science with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence.  Professional Experience : At least 3-7 years of professional experience in Java programming or a similar language.

Technical Expertise :

  • Solid knowledge of Spring Boot
  • Proven experience in development with any relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, MariaDB, etc.)
  • Proficiency with testing tools like JUnit or Mockito

    • Nice to have :

  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies and data processing frameworks like Spark, Flink or similar is advantageous, MongoDB knowledge is a big plus
  • Knowledge of any frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) is a plus

    • Teamwork Skills : Ability to work efficiently in an international team environment.  Language Proficiency : Good command of English, both written and verbal. Additional languages are beneficial.
