We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

Cantina is a Gault Millau POP awarded Peruvian restaurant, offering dinner as well as hearty weekend brunch in a warm atmosphere. It is centrally located in the heart of Kreis 4 of Zurich.

We strive to offer a stimulating, creative and fun atmosphere, while working hard, with attention to detail, and with passion. Experience is important, but so is drive and eagerness to learn. Tasks

  • Training as a chef
  • Work experience in a hotel, restaurant or similar
  • High attention to detail and focus on quality
  • A do'er with a flexible mindset and positive attitude
  • Able to communicate and work well in a team in hectic situations
  • Flexibility to working hours
  • Conversational English required

Requirements

  • Support the HeadChef in managing the kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards. Assist in creating new menu items and specials.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s quality standards and recipes. Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper cooking techniques and hygiene practices.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients. Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or issues to the Head Chef.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
