We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

Cantina is a Gault Millau POP awarded Peruvian restaurant, offering dinner as well as hearty weekend brunch in a warm atmosphere. It is centrally located in the heart of Kreis 4 of Zurich.

Tasks

Training as a chef
Work experience in a hotel, restaurant or similar
High attention to detail and focus on quality
A do'er with a flexible mindset and positive attitude
Able to communicate and work well in a team in hectic situations
Flexibility to working hours
Conversational English required

Requirements

Support the HeadChef in managing the kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards. Assist in creating new menu items and specials.

Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s quality standards and recipes. Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients.

Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper cooking techniques and hygiene practices.

Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients. Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or issues to the Head Chef.

Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients.

Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
