The Head of JPM Suisse New Client Onboarding is responsible for all aspects of client onboarding including the fulfilment of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) requirements. To be successful, the selected candidate must have a strong operations background as well as experience in leadership management disciplines and regulatory knowledge.
The successful candidate will partner with client-facing teams to prioritize and manage the new client onboarding pipeline and serve as escalation point of contact for Front Office and Operations colleagues. The role holder will leverage a stakeholder network to drive the overall success of the team and ensure all requests are completed in a timely and efficient manner with the highest standards of quality and care, and compliant with all Bank policies and regulatory standards. The individual will proactively manage controls and risk and will drive issue resolution.
The role holder will be responsible and accountable for enhancing the new client onboarding operating model, driving strategic and tactical initiatives to improve colleague and client experience, all whilst ensuring adherence to firms standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert on KYC / AML requirements and related policies and procedures
- Maintain a governance and reporting structure to ensure objectives are clearly defined and deliverables are documented with associated metrics to measure output
- Escalate to and discuss complex client issues with Compliance and risk partners
- Inspire and motivate the New Client Onboarding team by understanding business drivers, challenging the status quo and modelling desired behaviours and outcomes
- Drive critical thinking and proactively seek out best practices by understanding client needs and the impact of the relationship across the firm
- Deliver process enhancements, ensuring service levels, quality and control outcomes are met
- Resource management through proactive alignment of resources according to clients and initiatives and allocating work efficiently
- Acquire and develop talent, managing colleague performance, providing real-time feedback and fulfil performance management commitments
- Ability to partner strongly with the broader operations groups globally to look for synergies across regions as well as being a culture carrier influencing beyond direct responsibilities
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
Extensive experience within financial services, operational or risk management fields and managing teamsStrong sense of ownership and responsibility with a can-do attitude with a passion for driving best practicesStrong written and oral communication skills with ability to successfully influence internal and external stakeholdersSound understanding of KYC / AML fields and deep knowledge of the different structures open within the Wealth Management industry and the documentation associated with such structuresAbility to coordinate issues, findings and practices with colleagues across regions and / or divisionsAbility to apply business knowledge to new situations and able to approach situations both globally and specific to product areaTeam player with ability to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environmentFluency in English is mandatoryPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
