Job Description

As an AI Engineer at Swiss Marketplace Group's Real Estate Business Unit, you will contribute to the data hub for the leading real estate platforms in Switzerland, which includes homegate.ch and immoscout24.ch among others. You will be part of a cross-functional, agile data team with an open mindset and teammates who enjoy learning new skills and sharing theirs.

You will design, build, and deploy AI solutions with a strong focus on LLM-powered systems, including chatbots, information retrieval, and generative AI applications. You will work as part of the Data Science & Engineering team, collaborating closely with data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver production-ready AI features.

About The Position

• Design and implement LLM-based use cases (chatbots, RAG systems, summarization, classification, evaluation).

• Integrate LLMs with internal data sources using retrieval techniques (vector search, embeddings).

• Build, evaluate, and monitor Generative AI pipelines from experimentation to production.

• Apply best practices for scalable, reliable, and responsible AI systems.

• Perform data analysis and prompt experimentation to improve model performance and user experience.

• Write, review, and debug production-grade Python code.

• Support and improve existing ML/AI systems (recommendations, predictions, fraud, classification).

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives and evaluation metrics.

• Report to the Head of Data Engineering & Science.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in ML, AI, or applied data science roles (Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, etc).

• Solid Python skills (SQL is a plus).

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and GenAI frameworks (e.g. OpenAI APIs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face).

• Experience building chatbots and RAG / information retrieval systems.

• Strong understanding of ML pipelines: data ingestion, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring.

• Experience deploying AI/ML models to production (APIs, retraining, experiment tracking).

• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and search systems is a strong plus.

• Comfortable working with large, heterogeneous datasets.

• Ability to quickly understand new datasets and business problems.

• Team-oriented, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

• Motivation to stay up to date with fast-moving AI and LLM technologies.
