TheManagerCommunications & PR is responsible forsupporting theSr.DirectorinmanagingPublic Relations, external and internal communicationsacrossRBIand itsbrands (Burger King, Popeyes,Tim Hortonsand Firehouse Subs)overseeingEMEAandLAC,andaffords the opportunity tostrategically and proactively engage key internal and external stakeholders.Thepositionalsoincludesmedia relations, brand communications, crisis and reputation management, corporatecommunications, and event management.TheManagerCommunications & PR reports directly to theSrDirectorCommunications,RBIInternational. In addition, thepositionworks with other functions within the organization includingMarketing, Sustainability,EventandLegal.

You will work cross-functionally to develop and manage internal communications strategies that create a shared understanding of our RBI priorities and values. You will help keep RBI employees connected and engaged around our Big Dream of building the most loved restaurant brands in the world. You will partner with and strategicallyadvisesenior leadership on communications efforts that help achieve ourobjectives.You’llwillbe in a fast-paced environment,exhibitingcreativity and passion all while producing results that drive employee engagement and business performance.
RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite 5 days per week.
This is a fixed-term employment for 5-6 months. The contract will be provided by a third-party employment.
Your roles & responsibilities:
- Be part of the Communications Team in ourZugoffice, building strong relationships with leaders across functions and with media, public relationsagenciesand other key stakeholders
- Lead end-to-end communications initiatives for a variety of internal and external audiences, ensuring key message delivery, audience engagement, positive brand affinity, leadership credibility, effective transitions (Change Management)and positive flow of media coverage
- Tell our story and protect our image through planning, execution, and measurement across traditional and digital channels for RBI and its Brands
- Maintain and build current knowledge and standards of excellence in communications and public relations
Media Relations
SupportPR strategies across vast regionsdrivingour brands’narrative aligned to marketing objectives
ManageFranchisees andPR agency relationshipsto ensure goals and deliverables are being achieved and effectively integrated in marketing plans
Develop and manage approvals for all media materials (pitches, news releases, visuals, etc.) in collaboration withfranchisees,agencypartnersand internal stakeholders
Drive PR measurement, coveragetrackingand analysis of programs and initiatives. Provide recommendations thatoptimizecoverage for future initiatives
Have a pulse on the finger integrating industry news,trendsand compelling angles into public relations strategies
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to provide PR counsel on campaigns and coaching on media interviews
Support management of media inquiry inbox
Internal Communications
Manage internal storytelling and connectivity aroundthe brands’initiatives to help build awareness
Create content and talking points to support leadership updates and presentations duringtownhalls, etc.
Think through internal audience touchpoints during communication plan development
Support weekly newsletter for the office covering key news across the region
Issues & Crisis Management
Support theSrDirectorin leadingcrisis management from understanding context through recommended approach and draft responses
Effectively manage media, socialmediaand franchisee issues by preparing proactive and reactive statements and preparing spokespeople for interviews or statements
Work on Crisis Management materials, including Crisis Managementtrainings
Event Management
LeadFranchisee eventscommunications to franchisees, employees, and vendors when applicable
Develop engaging presentations and scripts for brand conventions and Franchisees events, and coach on delivery methods and best practices
Your skills & experience:
Bachelor's/Masterdegree in communications, public relations or related field/experience
5yearsof professionalexperiencein Communications
Preferred experience inQSR, hospitalityor related industry
A combination of corporate and agency experience an asset
Fluent in English
PowerPoint design and video editing skills considered an asset.
Experience withMedia reporting platformswould bea plus
Proven ability to craft and communicate a compelling message/tell a story and experience in developing press releases, briefs, etc.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a strong executive presence to engage with senior leadership.
Success writing for senior executives – for internal and external audiences – and samples you can share.
Advanced knowledge of communications measurement best practices and using insights to drive strategy and planning.
