Senior Manager – Data Architect – Artificial Intelligence & Data

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you will advise senior client stakeholders on enterprise-wide data and AI architecture decisions and lead the design and delivery of complex, cloud-based data solutions. You will play a pivotal role in helping organizations modernize their data landscapes and turn data into a strategic asset. You will lead the design of enterprise data architectures, supporting clients in modernizing complex system environments spanning MDM, CRM, ERP, and cloud data platforms. Working closely with executive stakeholders, you will define pragmatic and enforceable architecture standards and shape end-to-end modernization roadmaps. You will take ownership of cloud data platform architectures and implementations, designing scalable, high-performance solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Your scope will include data modelling, integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps practices, and the intelligent use of AI to build and operate platforms efficiently. You will make critical design decisions and lead onshore as well as near- and offshore engineering teams through delivery. You will architect integrated solutions across data, analytics, and AI platforms, enabling seamless business processes and data products. This includes integrations between cloud data platforms, AI and GenAI platforms, and operational systems such as CRM or MDM. Beyond client delivery, you will actively strengthen the firm’s market positioning, representing the organization in discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners, as well as at selected industry events. You will also mentor and develop junior colleagues, shaping internal capabilities and setting strategic directions for expertise development within Switzerland and across distributed delivery teams.

YOUR PROFILE You are an experienced Data Architect with 8+ years of professional experience, including leadership roles in the design and implementation of complex, cloud-based data ecosystems. You bring a strong engineering background and hands-on experience from end-to-end data platform implementations, ideally across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, and / or Snowflake. You are confident in making and defending data architecture decisions, influencing both business and IT stakeholders, and translating strategic objectives into robust technical designs. You have a strong track record in guiding engineering teams, promoting best practices in coding quality, and leveraging tools such as SonarQube and AI-assisted development environments. Your expertise spans relational, semi-structured, and graph-based data models, and you are highly skilled in data modelling methodologies, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, dimensional modelling, and Data Vault. Certifications or experience with frameworks such as DAMA or TOGAF are considered a strong advantage. You have deep hands-on experience designing modern data architectures (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven architectures) and are able to balance performance, cost, scalability, and maintainability. You are comfortable estimating delivery effort, leading multidisciplinary teams, and producing high-quality architecture blueprints and solution design documentation. You bring strong capabilities in data integration and ETL / ELT, designing integration layers across ERP, CRM, APIs, and operational systems. Familiarity with tools such as Informatica or dbt is a plus. You are well-versed in metadata-driven and event-based architectures and can articulate best practices for monitoring, alerting, and intelligent pipeline behavior. You are able to review and guide engineering work in SQL, Python, and Spark, and are familiar with big-data formats such as Parquet and Iceberg. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is considered an asset. You are a motivated leader with a strong interest in emerging technologies and architectural trends, able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments without losing sight of the bigger picture. You communicate clearly and convincingly with both technical and executive audiences and bring strong client-facing presence, commercial acumen, and team leadership skills. You are fluent in English; German and / or French are highly preferred.
