JOB PURPOSE
The role of the MSC Foundation Host is both to promote the work of the MSC Foundation to all guests and oversee the sales of MSC Foundation selected assortment on board. The MSCF Host is expected to act as an Ambassador for the MSC Foundation, advocating for and inspiring consistently high levels of donations to the MSC Foundation by providing an exceptional & truly memorable guest experience at every interaction. This job requires a true belief in the work of the MSC Foundation and the ability to share and communicate your passion and knowledge with all the guests on board, keeping scrupulously up to date on all the MSC Foundation’s activities, progress, and achievements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Actively promoting the MSC Foundation, its partners and programs and their impact on its beneficiaries with genuine belief and passion.
- Explaining the donation mechanism and the power of together campaign to guests while managing the on-board donations and any related follow up actions with gratitude.
- Professionally performing official presentations and speeches in formal settings.
- Regularly checking and ensuring the suitability of all on-board communications regarding the Foundation and related fundraising tools, taking ownership of inventory integrity (donation forms, letterheads, envelopes, thank you card, and similar).
- Taking active ownership of managing the MSC Foundation Area, personally hosting and supervising the space especially during high traffic moments and ensuring that all equipment functions properly.
- Responsible to ensure that all the MSC Foundation related activities are always run successfully.
- Working in synergies with other Hotel departments, to organize activities to promote the Foundation during each journey (fundraising events, shows, presentations, vernissages etc.).
- Providing support to the Nautilus Club staff to ensure an interactive environment for kids and youth while raising awareness about marine conservation, education, and health through edutainment activities facilitated by MSC Foundation.
- Selling MSC Foundation selected assortment by emphasizing its distinctiveness and contribution to the achievement of the Foundation’s goals.
- Monitoring stock levels & references meticulously and reporting restocking needs in a timely manner to ensure consistent availability.
- Providing assortment range recommendations based on observations and guest feedback for each cruise in a related EOC report.
- Actively managing sellable inventory, storage organization within assigned locker(s) and stock levels, restocking the MSC Foundation Centre daily or as required (ensuring every item is always in pristine condition) to ensure consistent and meticulous display and offering of the full range to guests.
- Tracking activities, reporting findings and making recommendations based on observations and guest feedback to the Corporate MSC Foundation Team regarding sales, guest feedback, donations, ideas, excursions, etc. for each journey.
- As a member of the MSC Family, the MSC Foundation Host is responsible for ensuring that guests have an unforgettable and pleasant experience. Resolution of our guests’ issues to leave a positive impression.
- Other guests face duties including but not limited to embarkation and disembarkation assistance, hosting guests, escorting guest tours, assisting guest services and / or any other duties assigned by the Guest Services Manager or General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
Previous experience with diverse Luxury / Premium hospitality / cruise lines or RetailCharismatic public speaking and hosting skills.Computer literacy.Candidate must demonstrate eagerness to contribute to philanthropic causes and make a positive impact.Fluent in English. Preferably additional 2 of any other major languages (Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French).VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)
