Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) Engineer
Role Overview :
The C&Q Engineer is responsible for supporting the commissioning and qualification of equipment and utility systems, across all buildings and required activities. The engineer will provide hands-on support to the existing C&Q EPC teams in the execution scope.
Main Responsibilities :
Field Support : Assist in the commissioning and qualification of utility and process systems controlled by the DeltaV DCS, including : Black and Clean Utility generation, storage, and distribution systems.
HVAC systems for classified and non-classified areas within the site’s manufacturing and utility areas.
Environmental Monitoring Systems.
Compounding and SIP / CIP systems.
Other systems as required.
Execution and Review : Conduct and review commissioning and qualification test protocols using KNEAT electronic documentation. This includes : Testing sequences of operation (start-up, hold, abort, stop, emergency stop).
Control loop tuning.
Pump and fan testing.
Alarm and interlock testing.
Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues encountered during commissioning. Proactively escalate issues.
- DeltaV System Integration : Support the integrated commissioning of DeltaV system software, hardware, and interfaces with various process and utility systems.
- System Reliability : Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot control system issues and ensure reliable operation of automated systems.
- Project Team Support : Assist the Project Team in gathering information for timely decision-making, minimizing project costs, timeline delays, and quality impacts.
- Field Execution Guidance : Ensure all equipment is commissioned following standards, procedures, and cGMP guidelines. Ensure timely resolution of documented issues using KNEAT.
- Coaching & Training : Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their knowledge and support fast-track commissioning.
- Safety & Compliance : Ensure field execution is conducted safely, adhering to HSE standards, including oversight of Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), RAMS, PSHR, Method Statements, and Start-up activities.
Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or trade qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Process Control, or a related field).Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.5-10 years of process commissioning experience (essential), with 3 years in utility system commissioning (preferred).Minimum 3 years of hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting experience with DeltaV DCS (essential), including DeltaV Operate / Live and Control Studio.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and codes of practice in the Life Sciences industry (desirable).Experience using KNEAT for CQV test execution (desirable).Proficiency in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.Familiarity with cGMP and considerable experience in field CQV execution.Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines.Ability to work well in a diverse team and demonstrate respect in all activities.Flexibility to work shifts / extended hours, as required, in compliance with working time regulations.Apply
