Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will support the financial year-end period within the global finance team. The main responsibilities will be focused on year-end accounting tasks and preparing for the year-end external audit and will work towards achieving the following. This will include :
Accounting and reconciliations
1. Accounts Receivable
- Manage the accounts receivable process including entering data into the ERP system, matching posted sales invoices with receipt of funds, aging analysis and assisting in updating relevant stakeholders
- Assisting in receipting membership dues
- Manage and follow up with key staff members on unidentified income
2. Expense claims
Review, follow-up, and post staff expense claims ensuring compliance with the internal travel policy and accuracy in accountingFollow-up with staff members on outstanding credit card expense claimsPrepare and process staff payments within five working days after the month's end3. Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Compile balance sheet reconciliations and follow-up on and pending entriesYear-end closing and consolidation
Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation, analysis and process informationComplete year-end balance sheet account reconciliations as assignedThe Finance Officer we are looking for will come with the following background and experience :
Recognized accounting qualification or degree in relevant disciplineAt least 5 years of relevant professional finance experience in an international environmentExcellent command in computer skillsExcellent analytical, presentation, and writing skillsExcellent coaching and interpersonal proficiency with the ability to support staff at various levels to perform financial tasksAptitude to work with minimal supervision within diverse multicultural teamsAbility to be flexible and adaptable with various work tasksHighly proficient in spoken and written English; knowledge of French is an advantage
