For our PAM Tech & Operations department, we are seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Oracle, Postgres and AWS database solutions, experience working with multi-terabyte databases and a strong understanding of SQL performance tuning.

In this role, your proficiency in PL / SQL and PL / pgSQL, combined with experience with large-scale databases and expertise in AWS database solutions such as RDS and Aurora, will be critical in ensuring optimal database performance and data integrity.

Your role

• Designing, developing and maintaining robust and scalable database procedures (e.g. data import, data processing) using PL / SQL, PL / pgSQL and AWS database-solution programming languages.
• Optimising SQL queries and database performance by analysing execution plans, indexing strategies and query optimisation techniques.
• Working with multi-terabyte databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval and manipulation.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.
• Conducting regular performance monitoring and tuning activities to maintain optimal database performance.
• Developing and maintaining database documentation, including data models, entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.
• Helping Java developers to develop and maintain their database-related code (e.g. model design, SQL queries, index creation / update).
