Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Specialist and Technical Administrator for our team in Zürich who will be responsible for managing and enhancing Sika’s Power BI environment. The role includes managing the Power BI environment, supporting the business to implement reporting use cases, training and end-user support and tasks around Power BI governance, access management and monitoring. In addition, you will be continuously driving the adoption of Sika’s Power BI strategy which is part of the overall digitalization strategy.

Take responsibility for the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI solutions and integrations to ensure seamless data access and reporting, working closely with internal users and external partners.
Support architecture, configuration, administration, and functional enhancements of the Power BI environment to maximize its capabilities.
Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, as well as underlying databases and data sources (e.g., Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Blob Storage), providing recommendations for improvement.
Take responsibility of governance, housekeeping for Power BI, maintenance & support of the current user base
Design and implement end-to-end Power BI analytics solutions that enhance collaboration and decision-making across the organization.
Implement and maintain data security measures in Power BI, including role-based access controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, to protect sensitive data.
Technical roadmap alignment with Microsoft in conjunction with the Sika roadmap and ensure smooth transition to new features
Trainings, user enablement, adoption (organizing trainings), managing / maintaining the Sika internal Power BI and Power platform community
Managing and collaborating with the external partners.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, data science, or equivalent work experience as a substitute for the degree.

Several years of experience in all areas of Power BI from report creation to administering the Power BI platform to user support and training and advocate for the Power BI within the organization

Practical experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud architecture, on-Prem databases and data gateway including the use of hyperscaler services such as Azure.

Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing databases, with experience in systems like SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

Expertise in data visualization tools, especially Power BI, to create compelling and actionable dashboards and reports.

Good amount of knowledge on all Microsoft technology stacks especially SharePoint and Azure

Strong knowledge of data security best practices and compliance regulations, with the ability to implement robust security measures to protect data assets in close alignment with Sika security team.

High degree of independence, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and reliability in managing tasks and projects.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with technical and business teams.
