Role Summary :
We are looking for a driven and capable international accounting leader who is ready to take ownership in a scaling International Finance environment.
This role offers the opportunity to lead international US GAAP reporting and European statutory accounting across multiple entities while actively shaping how our finance structure evolves. You will operate in a lean, multi-country setup and contribute directly to building scalable, high-quality processes that support sustainable growth.
You will work closely and report to the VP, Head of International Finance & Operations, acting as a trusted deputy and constructive sparring partner. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct operational involvement.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead International Finance operations :
- Lead the monthly US GAAPs Accounting close process and ensure timely and accurate financial statements for all international subsidiaries
- Own and manage all International Finance operations including USGAAP and local statutory accounting, Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and payroll for our European subsidiaries
- Work closely with external 3PL, outside accounting service provider and US Finance team on Order-to-Cash, revenue recognition and inventory accounting.
- Own Balance Sheet reconciliation process of international entities
- Manage external audit firms to ensure efficient annual audits for both US GAAP and local statutory accounts.
- Management of day-to-day activities of our outside accounting and tax service provider
- Work closely with FP&A on accruals, budget vs actual reporting and other ad-hoc requests.
- Ensure an efficient and effective system of internal controls to maintain compliance with J-SOX, FCPA, local laws and regulations, internal policies and procedures and industry code of conducts
- Partner with the US Controller and Ono HQ financial on reporting and other ad hoc requests
Lead local statutory Compliance process :
Lead and own local statutory Accounts preparation process for all our European subsidiaries with our external accounting service provider.Lead and own local VAT, Intrastat and income tax filings for all our European affiliates with our external accounting service provider.In partnership with Ono Corporate Headquarter and external accounting firm, oversee and support OECD Pillar 2 filings for the region.Lead International Inter Company and Transfer Pricing Operations :
Lead yearly Transfer Pricing documentation process with our external provider to ensure compliance with OECD requirements.Manage and oversee all Inter Company transactionsInternational launch and process improvements
Provide Finance support in relation to our International product launchesEnsure appropriate Finance systems and processes are in place to support our International operationsSeek and implement continuous system and process improvementsEvaluate and evolve financial operations policies and procedures in collaboration with US Finance teamLead and develop the International Accounting function
Lead and develop the International Accounting Team including one direct reportManage and improve the support provided by external accounting service providerSupport the design and build of the European Accounting function and take on additional responsibilities during build-up phaseQualifications
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in multinational companyLife science industry experience a must, biotech or pharmaceuticals industry experience preferredExperience in a growth stage company in an International environment working with outside and remote internal and external resources with tight deadlinesExperience with transfer pricing and international supply chainStrong understanding of European local statutory accounting requirements and processExperienced with European VAT rules and filings incl. Intrastat across multiple jurisdictions.Experience working with and managing external local statutory accounting service providerAbility to deal with different European cultures, backgrounds and languages.Hands-on and roll-up the sleeves mentality with willingness to take on broad set of responsibilities while the organization is being built upIndependently motivated, detail-oriented and strong problem-solving abilityExcellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesAdvanced financial systems knowledge – Oracle Fusion and Blackline is a plusThorough knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS accounting principlesFluent English. Other main European languages preferred.Preferred Capabilities
