We’re searching for a EY-G1 Classroom Assistant who will work alongside and under the guidance of the Classroom Teacher.
Candidates are expected to have a high level of self-management skills and the role requires flexibility and the ability to be responsive to children.
A proactive disposition is essential for this supportive role.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with young children and have knowledge and understanding of child development.
Fluent German is desired.
In addition, all teachers and assistant teachers participate in our after-school activities and / or the sports programme and are to attend after-school staff meetings as required.
This is a full-time position and will begin in August of 2026.
Areas of Responsibility Professional Responsibilities Ensure student safety and well-being is central Engage reflectively in your ongoing growth and improvement Establish positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, and parents Contribute to the development of the school through engaging in mission-aligned projects Commit to expanding options for students through offering an after-school activity or coaching Learning Design Regularly plan and work collaboratively with the class teacher to ensure that all children are appropriately supported in the classroom Be actively involved in all moments of the children's day including supporting transitions, specialist subjects, outdoor learning and lunchtimes Use a range of technology and software to document and personalise learning experiences Be cognizant of the diversity of student profiles (eg.
cultural heritage, linguistic profiles, learning strengths) when interacting with students Learning Facilitation Cultivate a relational environment where students feel safe and motivated to stretch themselves Amplify and model positive learning behaviours, holding students accountable to excellent and ethical behaviour and work Use a variety of different teaching strategies and resources to cater to a variety of learning situations and styles Where appropriate, empower students to feel responsible and to take action Involve students actively in their learning Assessment Under the guidance of the class teacher, uses a range and balance of strategies for assessing and recording student progress What we’re looking for Candidates must have a Swiss or EU passport / valid Swiss work permit (or be approved for a Swiss work visa) Why ISZL?
