Your responsibilities
CERN is seeking a proactive and highly organised Administrative Assistant to support the Council Secretariat, which is responsible for organising meetings of the CERN Council and its subsidiary bodies throughout the year.
Your Role
As an Administrative Assistant, you will :
- Provide a wide range of administrative support within the Council Secretariat.
- Coordinating and organising meetings of the CERN Council, its subordinate and advisory bodies, and working groups.
- Liaise courteously and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of official documents.
- Offer administrative support to the President of the Council and Chairs of various committees.
- Provide back-up for the administrative assistant of the Translation and Minutes Service when required.

Skills
MS Office proficiency Ability to understand and speak English in a professional context and to prepare standard texts in English.Ability to understand and speak French in everyday situations. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a courteous approach.Ability to understand and speak English in a professional context and to prepare standard texts in English.Ability to understand and speak French in everyday situations.Eligibility criteria :
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Adminstrative (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma .You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.Additional Information
Job closing date : 9 April 2025 at 23 : 59 (midnight) CET.
Contract duration : 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
