The Product Developer Jewellery is responsible for the development and planning of products throughout their lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product requirements, working closely with Design, Sales and Marketing teams and ensuring revenue and customer satisfaction.
The role will also ensure that the product supports the business’ overall strategy and goals.

- Research, develop and launch new products for the brand to meet customer needs
- Source raw materials as needed for designers and factories
- Monitor constantly and negotiate costs with factories to meet targets and margin goals
- Oversee and manage product process according to the business goals and objectives
ACTIVITIES
Product Development and Sourcing
Work with designers to provide technical drawings to factories within a defined calendarSuppliers, materials (chains, stones, electroplating, metals etc.) and production processes of jewellery knowledge and researchMaintain a clear calendar to ensure that all sample deadlines are metEnsure that all samples are shipped and received on timeCosts sharing and negotiation to finalize project and margin on timeAssist in the sourcing of new factories as neededAssist the checking of the execution of the samples, from the initial designs to the final samplesManage the samples archiveManagement and tracking of outgoing and incoming samples for MKT activities, e-commerce shooting and sales team needsCheck product images to assure quality / design consistency vs final production, and presence on corporate systemsDatabase and Style Creation
Assist during the creation of the specification sheets, style codes and product descriptions for all new productsProvide SKU analysis as neededManage costs and stylesManual updating of materials, quality, specifications, % composition; weight prior verificationVendor Monitoring
Communicate daily with factories for the samples progress and resolve product development issuesSupport the quality control and approval of samplesMaintain vendor relationships and ensure financial and production goalsRapid solutions for rapid prototypingCoordination with suppliers on test reports on items in the collection (knowledge of the main regulations e.g. REACH Regulation (EC) No.1907 / 2006; List of Restricted Substances and Materials etc.); GPSR, ESPR; DPPInteracting with other Guess departments
Work closely with the purchasing department to guarantee the proper execution of the produced collectionInteract with colleagues of other functions / business units in order to create synergies and to avoid overlapping actionsInteract with the legal department for counterfeit Jewellery productsRequirements
Experience : years 3-5 of experience in a similar role in Jewellery fieldEducation : University DegreeExcellent knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory. Any other European language is considered as a plusPC Skills : expert in Excel, strong experience in using planning and analytical systems, AS400 (Stealth)Proactively works toward set goals and has a problem solving mind-setMust possess the ability to handle multiple tasks / projects with adherence to deadlinesTeam player, dynamic personality, fast thinker, positive attitude and sense of urgencyOpen-minded and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all levelsAvailability to travel – including intercontinentallyBenefits
