ABOUT THE ROLE
To strengthen our e-Bike Mechanical System Engineering team in Cham, Switzerland, we are seeking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to commence immediately or by agreement. In this role, you will be developing solutions for state-of-the-art e-Bike System parts on the mechanical side.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Design and develop components of highly complex mechanical and / or electromechanical Systems (battery housing and mounting mechanism, display housing, remotes, etc.)
- Brainstorm and collaborate with teammates to solve challenging problems through innovative solutions designed to be manufactured
- Work closely with members from other teams, including Industrial Design, Project Management, Product Management, and other Engineers, to ensure a successful outcome for your projects
- Externally, you will be working with various vendors and manufacturing plants.
- Own and execute your projects from concept to production, including rapid prototyping, 3D modeling, 2D drawings, structural calculations, sample fabrication, validation, etc.
- Willingness to collaborate and compromise to ensure that important decisions can be made to ensure the best solution for the overall project.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes to help drive efficiency and innovation
WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering2-5 years in a role with similar responsibilities is preferredExperience designing mechanical system components, preferably batteriesGood knowledge of designing and manufacturing in injection molding, metal extrusion, metal stamping and forging.Good design and development skills with a first-principles engineering approach in 3D modeling skills (preferably using CREO (Pro / E))Bicycle tech knowledge and a passion for e-bikes is a plusBasic electronic knowledge is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and hands-on mentality rounded by an elevated level of creativityEffective communication skills, verbally and in writingForward thinking and proactive attitudeHandling several projects at the same time and anticipating the next steps.Comfortable with working in an international environment and in different time zonesWillingness to travel internationally (US, Asia, Europe, 2-3 trips per year)Good English skills, verbally and in writing
