Mission

  • Responsible for maintaining a front-line relationship with the Bank’s clients and other appropriate parties in the market, providing high levels of customer service whilst keeping focus on the primary function of maintaining the credit risk profile of the Bank : ensure that utilization of the facilities in the Geneva TCF portfolio and collateral monitoring are within the approved parameters of the facility, ING standards and industry norms.
  • Main mission is to monitor the Geneva Borrowing Base portfolio from a structuring and operational perspective which covers syndicated and bilateral facilities Borrowing Base Facilities (“BBF”), with different roles (Security Agent, Bilateral Fronting Agent, Collection Account Agent, Participant) on various sectors (Oil&Gas, Metals, Soft and Gas&Power).
  • Under the Geneva TMO reporting line, the BB Desk is organized in two interconnected teams : Structuring Analyst (“BB Expert”) and Security Agency (“SA”) to cover and work jointly on all types of transactions from the pre-closing to post-closing stages.
  • SA core mission is to focus on the daily operational aspects when ING Geneva plays an active role within the BBF while BB Expert core mission is to work closely with Relationship Manager and Credit Risk to structure BBF (pre-closing) and ensure an exhaustive reporting of BBF portfolio including participating role (post-closing).

Main tasks and responsibilities

The Transaction Manager (“TM”) reports to the TMO Team Lead and ultimately to the Head TMO and owns a portfolio of transactions with various degree of complexity. The TM can back-up any transactions of the BB desk’s portfolio assigned to her / him and can manage transversal missions.

Main responsibilities assumed by SA are :

  • Monitor transactions when INGG performs an active role on the operational side and be the first point of contact for the day to day business;
  • Analyze and understand risks related to a proposed transaction (credit, operational, compliance, hedging, freight, transactional liquidation, quality of security);
  • Ensure full compliance with BB Facility agreement terms with respect to various roles (Security Agency, Fronting / Issuing bank, Ancillary Lender and / or Bilateral Lender) of his / her portfolio. Can interpret LMA type loan documentation, challenge and translate them into robust operational monitoring modus operandi;
  • Check, process, validate, monitor and follow up complete execution of incoming / outgoing payment (including fund positioning, margin calls, Forex, etc) and credit instruments issuance / reception under BBF mechanism, (sub)limits and terms as per applicable local TMO procedures from a Security Agent (Collection account on behalf of the pool of lenders), Ancillary Lender, Fronting Agent and / or Bilateral Lender perspective;
  • Check, challenge and validate each BB reports submitted by the Borrower as per pre-agreed frequency;
  • Process the collateral acceptation and release under various jurisdiction;
  • Reconcile BBR data with transactional flow and documents.
  • Monitor OBSI reporting and fees monitoring in coordination with support functions;
  • Participate pro-actively in the draft of the BBF audit and inspection scope of work;
  • Participate actively in the due diligence (onboarding phase notably);
  • BB Expert & SA TM common responsibility

  • Coordinate efficiently the different relationship for his / her portfolio externally (Borrower, Facility Agent, Lenders, Auditors, Inspector and other digital platforms provider);
  • Coordinate efficiently internally (with TMO SA / BB Expert, Relationship Manager, Letter of Credit team; Credit Administration, Back Office Settlement, Legal, Finance, TFS, etc) the operational translation of documentation responsibility;
  • Facilitate all operational aspects of transactions onboarding.
  • Maintain high risk mitigating standards by following the operational procedures developed by the global and local ING procedures, guidelines, trainings and decisions to mitigate Operational, Credit and Compliance risk.
  • Contribute to BB Desk policy improvement;
  • Maintain a constant and robust audit trail;
  • Communicate and escalate any observed red flags;
  • Each TM is responsible and held accountable to ensure that all dealings and transactions are compliant with ING Group policies and Swiss Laws and regulations
  • Act as solid back up to ensure the full portfolio transactions and reporting continuity;
  • Contribute to collective skill improvement by sharing experience knowledge and technical best practices towards their peers.
  • Review and update continuously the Modus operandi for each transactions;
  • Contribute actively to BB Desk transversal projects (. : organizational process, robotization, data quality, digitalization, etc)

  • Client oriented, solution driven and proactive;

  • Legal sensitive : can understand and challenge LMA syndicated documentation, security agreement package and transactional documents;
  • Proficient with Excel (complex formulas and database);
  • IT systems : TCF IT tool and process (strong knowledge of in-house ING appreciated) and external (eg : Debtdomain, TCF platforms) a plus;
  • High written and verbal communication aptitude
  • Thorough knowledge of TCF products, policies, procedures and compliance

  • Professional & educational experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Trade & Commodities Finance
  • Experienced with syndicated Borrowing Base facility structure and mechanism
  • Experienced in legal documentation negotiation (Loan Market Association certified or equivalent)
  • University degree, equivalent background, CFC or commercial background
