In this role, you will play a critical part in advancing our LCA efforts by analyzing, interpreting, and maintaining high-quality data in the transport sector. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our database reflects the latest industry insights, trends, and sustainability metrics, providing valuable data that informs strategic decision-making. This position is ideal for an analytical professional passionate about sustainability and eager to apply their expertise to drive impactful environmental outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing :

  • Provide technical support for diverse projects aimed at improving and developing the core structure of the ecoinvent database and the expansion of its coverage.
  • Desk research tasks, deep dives into processes specific to the transport sector, and providing analyses to the sector manager. Reviewing datasets for data provision projects.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as data providers, to guide them through the data preparation and submission process.
  • Support the communication efforts of ecoinvent, reinforcing support for users of the ecoinvent database.
  • Keep up to date with key standards and policies within the transport sector.
  • Present work externally at conferences and be seen as a burgeoning thought leader in this space.

What We Need from You :

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to the transport sector i.e. automotive engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering.
  • Preferably a minimum of one year of industry experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in LCA, practical or theoretical, and the ecoinvent methodology and data.
  • Proficiency skills in Python.
  • Proficiency in English; any other language is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Basic modeling skills.
  • Self-motivated attitude, systematic thinking, and strong attention to detail.
  • The ideal candidate brings strong critical thinking skills and a problem-solving attitude. You are proactive, structured, and organized. You are enthusiastic about learning and pushing for innovation. You will work both independently and alongside internal and external collaborators— including users and data providers— so good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and a can-do attitude are essential. Managing various, diverse tasks at the same time does not phase you. You enjoy working in a diverse and international team, have a curious mind, and grasp new concepts quickly.
