Job Description
- Develop a comprehensive analytical framework for modeling and forecasting medium-to-long-term energy demand across key energy demand sectors in Europe, including industry sector-specific demand models for fertilizer, chemical, steel, and other energy-intensive industries
- Framework should be adaptable for global application. Timeframes : Medium-term (1-3 years) : economic development and policy changes (e.
g., energy efficiency regulations, carbon pricing schemes)Long-term (5+ years) : structural shifts, technological advances, long-term economic growth, population demographics
- Prepare and maintain energy demand scenarios to serve as inputs for energy prices forecasting models.
- Analyse the potential impacts of major events, policy, and geopolitical developments on energy markets.
- Analyze key macroeconomic data, research trends in energy-intensive sectors (fertilizers, chemicals, metals, etc.), and supply-demand dynamics within relevant value chains (minerals, metals, etc.
with focus on identifying potential impacts on energy demand.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing the above insights to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data analytics team on expanding our global economic data coverage and notification system
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in energy demand analytics, energy analytics, or a closely related field
- Experience in an energy trading environment or commodities sector is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics; Master’s degree a plus
- Strong research, analytical, and quantitative skills (econometric and statistical modeling)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Coding skills in Python and SQL are an advantage
- Ability to explain and communicate complex concepts, translate market analyses into propositions / strategies and to communicate them clearly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
