Our client is a reputable investment firm known for its focus on private, mid-market investment opportunities. As a Finance Director you are responsible for invested portfolio companies in the energy / infrastructure.

You tasks will include liquidity management, capital structure optimization including (project) finance workstreams / leverage management.

There is an element of FP&A where the person should lead / oversee strategic initiatives / value creation from a financial perspective in collaboration with local portfolio company management.

You will lead a team of 2 Senior Associates handling accounting and valuation workstreams, this requires oversight and some proactive control / decision making and requires a good understanding of these topics.

The team is small and the candidate therefore needs a hands-on, proactive, "entrepreneurial" mentality.

Drive financial best practices across the portfolio, build strong relationships with CFOs, lead financial optimization strategies, and chair finance committees.

Ensure timely delivery of annual budgets and revised 5-year plans by collaborating with finance committees, internal teams, and the board.

Oversee accurate quarterly valuations, compile fund-level valuations for approval, and maintain high reporting standards across portfolio companies.

Facilitate annual portfolio audits, align with auditors on valuation methodologies, ensure regulatory compliance, and monitor fund concentration limits.

Centralize cash planning, coordinate investor drawdowns and capital deployment, and ensure efficient cash pooling across portfolio companies.

Develop and maintain relationships with banks and debt providers, monitor financial markets, and support capital structure optimization.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.10 years of financial experience as a Finance Director or CFO preferably with infrastructure backgroundStrong experience in FP&A, liquidity management and capital structuringBackground in M&A, Investment Banking or Big Four coupled with corporate experience, Project Finance or Private Equity experience is an advantageProven success in financial management, strategic planning, and operational execution in high-growth environments.

Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, financial regulations, and project finance execution.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;

strong communication and interpersonal skills for conveying complex financial information.Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams with integrity, urgency, and a results-oriented approach.

Fluent in English, with proficiency in other European languages considered a plus.Working on impactful projects in a relevant sector.
