In Hitachi Energy Research, we perform cutting-edge research and look at various aspects of power grid resilience. In this context, we offer a unique opportunity to join our team as an intern exploring how AI weather forecasting tools can be combined with probabilistic resilience models.

Your responsibilities :

Gain expertise in state-of-the-art AI weather models and uncertainty propagation through research and literature review

Integrate AI weather models into power system assessment tools

Develop deep learning models for generating weather maps based on measurements and numerical weather predictions

Conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed solutions

Effectively engage in an interdisciplinary agile team, self-driven execution of challenging tasks under a stimulating supervision

Disseminate knowledge including presentation and interpretation of results

Your background :

Currently pursuing a MSc degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field official enrollment is essential

Background in one of the following topics : machine learning applied to fluid dynamics, numerical methods and mathematical optimization, and / or uncertainty quantification

Profound knowledge of and experience in Python

Experience that demonstrates your team-oriented working style

Fluency in English, both written and spoken
