Senior Mechanical Engineer

Dietikon, Zurich, SwitzerlandEngineering – Optotune / Full-time / On-siteAre you a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with a passion for technology projects and driving innovation? We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Optotune. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge mechanical systems and solutions.

Tasks

  • Supporting product, process and technology development from concept designs through to product launch and mass production
  • 3D modelling, mechanical simulations and detailed design documentation including technical drawings
  • Process tooling development to ensure the manufacturability of our products at low costs, high throughput, and maximum yield
  • Feasibility studies and evaluation of new concepts
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the mechanical engineering toolset including CAD and Product Data Maintenance (PDM) systems and associated process
  • Supporting the development of a world-class supply chain and integrating associated technologies into the product and process designs
  • Collaboration with project leaders and multidisciplinary project teams

Requirements

  • MSc / BSc degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering
  • 5 years of detailed mechanical design experience in an industry setting
  • Experience in product development, preferably in Consumer, Meditech, or Industrial Opto-electronics industries
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals with proficiency with design tools including : CAD (Solidworks), Simulations (Comsol), D / PFMEA, GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Experience in establishing, optimizing and maintaining and using PDM systems valuable
  • Enthusiasm and aspiration to develop leadership capabilities
  • Creative and analytical thinking, proactive, well organized, autonomous, hands-on, open-minded for challenging ideas
  • Proficiency in English is required, German is an advantage
