We are currently looking for a Country Controller Austria & Switzerland  to join us at our facility in either Gustramsdorf (Austria) or Basel (Switzerland).

The Country Controller Austria & Switzerland is accountable for the delivery of all finance activities relative to the legal entities under her / his scope and is accountable for the quality and accuracy of the company financial statements. This includes finance responsibility over manufacturing, sales distributors and holding entities. The Country Controller Austria & Switzerland is the finance interface with Global & Regional Controllers, FP&A and External Authorities (incl. External Auditors).

Key responsibilities :

  • Leading local Finance country organization. LE Controller(s) and local accountant(s) will report (indirectly) into this position.
  • Ensure that the financial accounting and reporting of the legal entities is compliant with statutory and corporate policies : Compliance with Local and US Accounting Standards UGB & USGAAP;Timely closing and reporting for both local and group accounts;Review of reconciliation process of all accounts;Overall compliance of international transactions (import, export, customs & duties, ...).
  • Implement, maintain and improve accounting and reporting processes and act as a Finance partner for the (local) business teams.
  • Represent the legal entities to external authorities and maintaining contacts with local banks, auditors and relevant state institutions.
  • Main contact for internal, external & tax audits.
  • Responsible for assigned internal / SOX controls and acts as the steward of internal controls and governance in all other areas.
  • Preparation & review of accounting entries (JEVs) and reconciliation of relevant accounts.
  • Providing accounting guidance related to all areas of the financial accounting (includes AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Inventory, VAT ,..)
  • Responsible for preparation of Tax Provision Process (GAM).
  • Responsible for country relevant statistical returns and reports
  • Prepare & participate in shareholder / Board of Directors meetings and resolutions related to statutory financial statements.
  • Lead & participate in projects. This includes M&A projects.

Requirements / Qualifications :

  • Minimal CPA or Master degree in Finance or Business Administration. Bilanzbuchhalter.
  • Financial and Senior Accounting Experience. At least 6 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • People management experience.
  • Broad Accounting knowledge (US GAAP / FRS, local GAAP).
  • Knowledge of country Legal, Tax and Regulatory Compliance processes.
  • Able to build winning teams and championing change.
  • Analytical mind-set.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
  • Fluent in German and English. French is considered a plus
