Role Overview

A leading global company in logistics and terminal operations seeks a highly skilled Senior Legal Manager to support its Commercial Contracting and Projects team. This position will be instrumental in providing legal expertise for complex construction and procurement projects, managing contract negotiations, and advising on risk and dispute resolution. The role requires someone with a strategic mindset who can align legal advice with business objectives in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and interpret commercial contracts including construction, equipment procurement, consulting, and IT agreements.
  • Lead contract negotiations across multiple jurisdictions and assess associated legal risks.
  • Offer business-focused legal advice to support commercial contracting and manage approval processes.
  • Maintain and develop contract templates, manage document processes, and oversee contract approval workflows.
  • Advise on dispute resolution and gather pertinent information for pre-dispute processes.
  • Work closely with internal departments, such as Finance, Tax, Insurance, and Compliance, to integrate their considerations in commercial agreements.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors as needed.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Law degree and current or former admission to the Bar, with 5-12 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm; in-house experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of English law - including UK qualification - is an advantage
  • Deep expertise in contract and commercial law, with a working knowledge of FIDIC contracts. Experience with public-private partnerships, tenders, and port concessions is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English; additional European languages are beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to provide proactive, business-oriented legal solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple issues effectively, and thrive under tight deadlines.

  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced, and culturally diverse settings.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
