Better Cotton is the world's largest cotton sustainability programme. We exist to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, the environment it grows in, and the sector's future. We work with farmers, ginners, traders, brands, and retailers to deliver traceable, sustainable cotton at scale. The credible uptake of Better Cotton is key to meeting our ambitious 2030 strategy, and is essential for contributing to farmer capacity building through member funding derived from retailer and brand sourcing of Better Cotton.

We are now seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our Supply Chain Operations (SCO) team, driving the global adoption of our Chain of Custody Standard and certification systems. This is a high-impact role with a clear link to our 2030 Strategy, directly enabling the uptake of Better Cotton worldwide. The role reports into the Director of SCO and line manages 3-6 staff.

Join us at Better Cotton as the Global SCO Manager and lead within a global team driving Better Cotton sourcing in global supply chains, for the world's largest cotton sustainability initiative. We support more sustainable farming practices and farm livelihoods for nearly 3 million farmers in the Better Cotton network in 23 countries around the world.

The Challenge

Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women's empowerment among farmers and farm workers.

As the Supply Chain Manager, you ensure that our Better Cotton Benchmark Countries, new production countries and existing countries where we have no local presence are credibly embedding our chain of custody standards, including traceability and certification, for increasing the sourcing of Better Cotton. It involves ensuring overall alignment with annual workplans by overseeing global operational metrics and data, reporting, risk management and coordinating our global ginner programme.

Areas that play to your strengths

The Supply Chain Manager will :

Lead the global rollout of Better Cotton's Chain of Custody Standard across key markets, Better Cotton benchmark standard countries, including countries with no in-country BCI teams. Drive stakeholder engagement strategies that target the most influential actors in the global cotton supply chain. Oversee the global ginner programme and SCO data function, ensuring operational excellence and evidence-based decision-making. Design and monitor performance dashboards, adapting strategies to maximise uptake and efficiency. Contribute to supply chain strategy, innovation, and risk mitigation, including advancing traceability systems. Supply chain performance reporting Lead, coach, and inspire a diverse team of 3–6 professionals to deliver measurable, high-quality outcomes.

We are looking for someone who has

Essential

University degree, or equivalent higher education qualification, in a relevant field with a profound interest in sustainability A knowledgeable textile professional with at least 5 years of experience managing sustainability aspects in textile sourcing, including traceability and system / material certification A commercial mindset and a keen interest in sustainability Proven experience leading and managing operations at scale Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders from diverse cultures and backgrounds Experience leading teams and matrix resources in multicultural contexts A self-starter and fast learner who is comfortable managing uncertainty, is flexible, adaptable and reliable Proficient in English (written and verbal) Data-Driven Decision-Making : Uses analytics to optimise workflows and improve efficiency and is proficient with software such as Excel and Power Bi. Process Improvement : Identifies gaps and implements solutions that enhance performance. Collaborative Working : Partners across functions and geographies to deliver results

Working arrangements

The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and will be based either in London or Geneva. Better Cotton offers flexible working, with core hours being 10 am – 4 pm. The position will require overseas travel up to 20% annually.
