ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Digital Solutions Analyst is a key member of the Ocean Operations Team—a fast-paced, data-driven group leading the digital transformation of ocean operations. Reporting to the Operations Analyst – Ocean, this role is responsible for designing, developing, and operationalizing analytics, automation, and AI solutions that convert raw data into actionable insights and optimize day-to-day processes. The position focuses on building low-code applications, machine learning models, dashboards, and data pipelines, while collaborating closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Engineering & Automation
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake).
- Automate operational tasks with Python, DAX, APIs, and RPA tools.
- Ensure robust data governance by managing data efficiently, aligning with business needs, and guaranteeing accurate data transfer to designated endpoints.
Machine Learning & AI
Develop and deploy ML / AI models (e.g., forecasting, anomaly detection, optimization) for ship scheduling, inventory planning, and guest experience analytics.Implement model-serving frameworks (MLflow, Azure ML) and monitor performance in production environments.Business Intelligence & Apps
Build interactive dashboards in Power BI and Databricks SQL Analytics.Develop low-code applications and workflows using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse).Solution Delivery & Adoption
Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Hotel teams to gather requirements, prototype solutions, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and manage rollouts.Document data models and workflows, and deliver training to ensure successful adoption.Quality & Governance
Implement data-quality checks, lineage tracking, and compliance controls (GDPR).Use version control (Git) and CI / CD pipelines for reliable deployments.Continuous Innovation
Stay up to date with advancements in ML / AI, data engineering, and low-code technologies; prototype emerging tools to accelerate Viking’s digital initiatives.KEY QUALIFICATIONS
3–6 years of experience in a business-facing IT role, delivering data-centric solutions for operational functions.Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms.Proficiency in Python (pandas, PySpark, scikit-learn) and strong Excel skills.Solid SQL expertise and understanding of schema design.Ability to develop Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards.Familiarity with API integration and cloud orchestration tools (e.g., Logic Apps).EDUCATION
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in analytics or a related field.NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
