We are seeking an accomplished Head of Chartering (Panamax Desk), a Senior Director role, at a pivotal moment for our organization. Your Impact :

As Head of Chartering (Panamax Desk), you will hold significant ownership, directly accountable for a critical trading book's P&L. Responsibilities include :

• Proprietary trading with specific P&L targets and drive economic results, assessing and mitigating risks associated with chartering operations, such as credit risks, operational risks, and market fluctuations. Monitor / pursue spot arbitrage opportunities.
• Optimize physical operational trading (fleet).
• Providing leadership, guidance, and training to the chartering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. This encompasses training, coaching, and performance management to achieve departmental objectives.
• Ensure close coordination with logistics and operations teams on voyage execution
• Coordinating with various departments to plan and manage the deployment of vessels, ensuring efficient utilization and maximizing revenue.
• Staying informed about market conditions, freight rates, vessel availability, and industry trends to identify profitable chartering opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
• Daily contact with brokers and freight team across the world.
• Managing and strengthening existing customer relationships while proactively identifying new business opportunities.
• Actively coordinate physical activities with Derivative desk.
