Researchers in the area of intelligent control of networked systems

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) has opened two full-time (100%) positions for Researcher in the area of intelligent control of networked systems at the Department of Innovative Technologies, located in Lugano, within the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (USI-SUPSI) . Contract start date on 1st January 2024, or date to be agreed upon.

Tasks

Working in the applied projects for the development of Bayesian Optimization algorithms in manufacturing and robotics, and in building models from data.

Development of Web interface for modelling and optimization.

Development of Web infrastructure using Docker and K8.

Research activities in the field of preference-based optimization.

Research activities in the field of process optimization.

Requirements

Master’s degree in informatics, or related field.

Background in machine learning.

Experience in data-driven modelling.

Experience in process optimization.

Experience in robotics applications.

Experience in research and funded projects, in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

Experience in programming in Python, Flask Python, and Java.

Knowledge of Docker infrastructure.

Knowledge of Git (optional).

Publications in international journals and conference proceedings (optional).
