About the role
Would you like to work in one of the worlds most prominent and entrepreneurial technology and engineering businesses whilst helping to drive client satisfaction as part of one of EPAMs core business units?
EPAM is looking for a technically hands-on German and English speaking Senior Enterprise Solution Architect with strong Life Sciences industry experience.
You will be working in a Life Science Delivery team long term and also be comfortable travelling to client sites in DACH several times a month.
This is a great opportunity to work with EPAMs senior Tech Leaders, our Global Architects / Engineers and those from our client accounts supporting them navigate in a rapidly developing technology landscape.
The role requires a background in technology consulting, solution architecture, software development, client engagement and stakeholder management.
Our Solution Architects must have the ability to engage in opening discussions, identify technology needs, recommend the right technology choices and communicate / deliver solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of innovative solutions that address the needs of life science and medical technology clients
- Design and develop technical solutions for core client projects
- Provide guidance through the complexity of solution architecture options and the long-term roadmap for the solutions
- Find the right balance between innovation, technical feasibility, long term sustainability
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams locally and globally at both EPAM and various clients
- Create and present proof-of-concepts and architecture proposals as well as provide pre-sales and RFP support within the framework of a technology consultancy
- Ensure that all solutions comply with relevant regulatory requirements such as FDA, HIPAA and GDPR
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in Life Sciences and MedTech
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or similar or relevant work experience
- Extensive experience in hands-on Solution Architecture or related role with a strong foundation in Software Engineering
- Experience in Life Sciences industry is essential
- Must be fluent in German and English (reading, writing and speaking)
- Strong experience working in a consultative work environment as a SME to link technology with business value whilst guiding clients through the right technology choices suitable to their core short or long term needs
- Strong expertise in green field, lift and shift and migration projects
- Experience with Microservice based architecture, designing enterprise services or integration capabilities using REST APIs and event-driven technology as well as leveraging native Cloud services (desirable Azure)
- Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
- Experience and understanding of the Agile delivery, pre-sales, RFPs, POCs
- Comfortably leading and communicating with multi-disciplinary teams at EPAM and with the client, up to and including C-level management globally
Nice to have
- Experience of development in regulated environments for life sciences (e.g. the development lifecycle of medicines or medical devices) and the impact on key architecture processes and reference architectures
- Experience of integration with Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) clinical trial platforms leading vendors (e.g. Medidata, Veeva, Oracle, Parexel)
- Experience of health care provider platforms (hospital, GP, laboratory) and common interoperability standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR, DICOM, XDS)
- Knowledge and / or experience with electronic health records (EHR) and relevant technologies e.g. FHIR, openEHR
- Experience designing Connected Care Platforms
- Understanding of ISO and IEC Standards for SaMD (e.g. ISO , ISO , ISO )
- Experience of big data in biopharma and Med Tech and implementation of FAIR data principles
- Client-side experience of architecture transformation for large biopharma or Med Tech companies, for CROs or CRMOs or for suppliers of consumables / reagents
- A broad domain knowledge of the LS / HC sector, especially if it is combined with deep knowledge of one or more therapeutic areas (e.
g. anti-cancer, anti-infectives, neurological)
