P&C Actuary (m/f/x/d - Hybrid)
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious P&C actuary to join our team in performing quarterly and yearly P&C Solvency 2 calculations for our European legal entities in Luxembourg.
- You will perform calculations of best estimate liabilities and technical provisions for both Reinsurance and Corporate Solutions business for Solvency 2
- You will provide strong support for Finance system transformation projects covering IFRS, local statutory valuation and Solvency 2
- You will analyze and implement future changes to the regulatory framework of S2 coming from EIOPA or local regulators.
This also means participating in industry-wide consultations for these regulatory changes
- You will support and interact with appointed actuaries and actuarial function holders, legal entity CFO's and CROs
- You will support the preparation of actuarial function holder reports and appointed actuary reports
- You regularly interact and coordinate with stakeholders from Finance, Risk Management, Legal entity management, IT, Reserving functions as well as senior management.
You are building trustful long-term relationships
- You will also regularly work on actuarial-related projects and systems development.
- You will interact with and receive training from senior team members to further develop your actuarial expertise.
About the Team
Our team is part of the EMEA Actuarial & Reserving team which consists of teams in 5 locations. We value a good team and collaborative spirit and the team members come from different cultural backgrounds.
We frequently interact with a large number of stakeholders from different functions. Therefore, we value strong communication skills on top of technical expertise.
We strongly believe in continuous development and provide growth opportunities through rotations or participation in actuarial projects.
About you
Are you an (nearly) qualified P&C actuary with 2-4 years of experience in reserving / financial reporting in Insurance or Reinsurance?
Are you familiar with Solvency 2 and (re)insurance markets and products?
- You have a university degree in science or related subjects and you possess strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Programming skills in R, Python or other related languages will be considered an advantage.
- Fluent in English, you have multicultural communication skills, curiosity and are a great teammate. We will consider any other major language especially French a plus.
- You’re comfortable multitasking and you show courage, integrity and you earn trust with our partners.
- You are open to change, always in search of different, more efficient methods, you have a global mindset and you are comfortable providing constructive feedback.
- You are able to use your experience and judgment with minimal supervision or direction.
